Rita Rachmawati completes her PhD!
On January 19th, 2018, Rita Rachmawati filed her PhD thesis on “Differential Responses of Coral-Associated Microbiomes to Elevated Temperatures Across the Indonesian Archipelago at Species, Local and Regional Scales” . Dr. Rachmawati will now return to Indonesia to continue her work with the Department of Fisheries. Congratulations Rita!
Zach Gold’s Research Featured in National Geographic Learning Panorama: Science
National Geographic features Zack Gold’s research on using eDNA to monitor marine protected areas in their Learning Panorama platform for school kids. The story will be available in both English and Spanish.

The Diversity Project invades ASLO 2017
Paul and 12 alumni from The Diversity Project attended the 2017 ASLO conference in Honolulu Hawaii. Students presented their work at the Hawaiian Institute of Marine Biology as well as ASLO. These are the leaders of the future. Keep it up!

Diversity Project alumnus, Sam Degregori, joined the lab to pursue his PhD. He is joined by Indonesian Biodiversity Research Center alumnus, Onny Marwayana, who received a PRESTASI Fellowship to pursue his Masters degree at UCLA. Welcome Sam and Onny!
